Healthier Jupiter Couch to 5K Training is Now Underway!
For the second year in a row, Healthier Jupiter, in partnership with the Town of Jupiter’s Recreation Department and Jupiter Medical Center’s Cary Grossman Health & Wellness Center, is hosting a free 9-week “Couch to 5K” (C25K) training program to help participants gradually increase their physical activity to walk/run a 5K (3.1 miles).
Training is now underway and will continue through Saturday, April 27th, concluding with our C25K group participating in the Town of Jupiter Turtle Trot on Saturday, May 4th.
The Couch to 5K was developed a way for community members to get active and seek fitness in an inclusive and encouraging environment. We have participants just getting started with exercising, some getting back in shape, those looking to increase their speed and families looking for an opportunity to bond with physical activity.
Training is now underway with over 180 community members committed to the program Over 90 Couch to 5K participants joined together for the initial meet up on March 2nd. It is great to see this program has attracted such a diverse group. We have participants just getting started with exercise, some getting back in shape and families looking for an opportunity to bond with physical activity. The support of each other in this Couch to 5K group is key and we look forward to growing on our journey to better health and wellness.
We have over 180 community members committed to the Couch to 5K and over 100 showed up to the 1st Week Meetup. Click through some of the photos from our first meetup!
