July 20th to 28th is National Moth Week. Join Palm Beach County Environmental Resource Management biologist for a mothing night at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area. Meet in the parking lot at 7:30pm for a brief orientation after which they will head to the moth (and other night flying insect) attracting area. Magnifying boxes for observing the insects coming to the area will be provided. The moth arena is roughly ¼ mile from the parking lot in an opening in the sand pine scrub; the route to the arena is on a hard surface, the remainder is on sugar sand. Long pants, comfortable walking shoes and bug repellent are encouraged. Water for refilling your container will be provided. There are no restrooms facilities in this natural area.
